We all know the healthy benefits of green tea, but did you know purple tea has greater antioxidant activity than green tea and black tea? Purple tea is a new cultivar of Camellia Sinsensis, containing exceptionally high levels of catechins and epigallocatechin galette (EPCG) .It is called Purple Tea because the bushes grow purple leaves in the Kenyan tea gardens. The leaves are purple because they contain super-antioxidants called anthocyanins.
